Today, (12.08.2026) the Respect Our Rights (ROR) Group, supported by Syri i Vizionit and Save the Children Kosovo, presented the Research study “Your Voice Matters” in Gjilan!
This research was carried out within the framework of the program “Empowering Children for Policy Change and Participation”, implemented by Syri i Vizionit in partnership with Save the Children Kosovo, with support from Sida.
During the event, the findings of the research conducted with 194 students from grades 5–7 were presented, focusing on children’s safety, awareness of rights, identified issues, and unsafe spaces within the community.
An important part of the research was the Safety Map, along with students’ suggestions and the ROR Group’s recommendations for the relevant institutions. Through these recommendations, we aim to ensure that children’s voices and perspectives are taken into account when creating safer and more child-friendly communities.
ROR would like to express special thanks to the Municipal Directorate of Education (DKA) in Gjilan and MASHT (Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation) for their support and cooperation, as well as to the children’s rights officers, principals, psychologists, teachers, and all participants who took part in this activity.
We also thank Syri i Vizionit and Save the Children Kosovo for their support and for the opportunity to continue promoting children’s participation and rights.
A special note of thanks goes to Tea Mujaj, Princ Bardhaj, Vion Mujaj, and Enea Kadriu for presenting the project and for their dedication throughout this entire process!
